Darious Williams is hanging ‘em up.
The Rams cornerback is retiring from football, the team announced Saturday.
“Forever a Super Bowl LVI champ!,” the Rams wrote in a post on Instagram. “Congrats on a great career, Darious! 💙.”
Williams, who turns 33 this month, played eight seasons in the NFL, including six with the Rams.
The undrafted UAB product was claimed off waivers by the Rams in 2018, culminating in winning the Lombardi Trophy during the 2021 season.
Williams left for the Jaguars after that Super Bowl win, but was released less than three years later, and returned to Los Angeles before the 2024 season, signing a three-year, $22.5 million deal.
Throughout his career, Williams recorded 306 tackles with 12 interceptions and two forced fumbles.
His 73 passes defended are the second-most in football since Williams became a full-time starter during the 2020 season.
Injuries limited Williams to just 24 total regular season games over the last two seasons.
He started 10 postseason games for the Rams during his career, having most recently recorded four total tackles in the NFC Championship game against the Seahawks.
Williams’ retirement clears the Rams $7.5 million in cap space and saves them the $500,000 roster bonus he was due next week.
The news comes just days after the Rams pulled off a blockbuster trade with the Chiefs for star cornerback Trent McDuffie that sent this year’s No. 29 overall pick, a fifth-, a sixth- and a 2027 third-rounder to Kansas City.
The Rams also could lose cornerback Cobie Durant, who is slated to enter free agency next week.
