After the massive success of their recent collaboration, director Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh are reportedly looking to join forces once again. According to a report by Variety India, Aditya has renewed his exclusive first-look deal with Jio Studios for another two years. Under this renewed partnership, the filmmaker and his banner, B62 Studios, co-founded with Lokesh Dhar, will develop and produce multiple films, including his next directorial venture which is rumoured to be a grand mythological action film starring Ranveer Singh.
The reports suggest that Aditya Dhar has now fully moved on from his long-discussed and highly ambitious project, The Immortal Ashwatthama. Originally looked at as a large-scale mythological epic starring Vicky Kaushal, the film generated huge buzz after the success of Uri: The Surgical Strike. However, the project faced hurdles due to mounting costs and budgetary concerns, leading it to be shelved. It is now being said that there is no intention of reviving the ambitious venture.
Instead, Aditya Dhar is exploring a new mythological action film and is keen on collaborating with his Dhurandhar actor, Ranveer Singh. While the filmmaker has reportedly discussed the project with Ranveer, it is still in the early stages, and an official announcement may take time.
The collaboration between B62 Studios and Jio Studios has already yielded five projects, including Article 370, Dhoom Dhaam, Baramulla, and the two-part action spy-thriller Dhurandhar. The first part was a historic success, emerging as the biggest-ever Indian film at the domestic box office with more than Rs 838 crore net business in India. Despite being banned in six Gulf countries and Pakistan, it trended globally on Netflix and even became the top film in Pakistan during its first week.
Currently, Aditya Dhar is focused on gearing up for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026. The sequel will star Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, and Danish Pandor in key roles.
