Valaya explains, “Rashmika’s lehenga is indeed special. It is inspired by a beautiful antique carpet that I saw in a museum in Baku. It is replete with intricately worked flora and fauna in silk threads, aged metals and glass beads and is a fascinating blend of colour and texture.”
Crafted with meticulous artistry, this lehenga set brings together resham thread work, crystal and sequin embellishments along with antique gold metallic embroidery. The ivory base serves as a neutral canvas with multicoloured accents. The blouse is accented with floral embroidery in contrasting colours. Complementing the ornate set is an embroidered soft pastel dupatta, featuring a surface scattered with delicate butterfly motifs that lend the time-honoured look a hint of whimsy; a signature Valaya flourish that balances tradition with playfulness.
Meagan Concessio accessorised Mandanna’s look with a necklace, bangles and rings from Shrihari Diagems by Anirudh. The statement necklace with cascading pearl strings and an ornate peacock pendant subtly echoes the aviary patterns on the skirt, tying the ensemble together.
