A reality star has announced the tragic death of her four-month-old baby with a heartbreaking Instagram post where she has questioned how she is supposed to carry on now.
Lisa Straube, who shot to fame when she competed on the hit TV series Temptation Island VIP in her native Germany just over two years ago, announced that her infant son Xavi passed away yesterday, and told fans the heartbreaking news on Monday.
The devastated 25-year-old TV personality took to social media, where she has amassed 260,000 followers, and said: “I wish I could hold you in my arms again.” She was the mother of baby Xavi with her husband, fellow reality star Furkan Akkaya, 24, better known as Akka.
The couple has another son called Emilio, who was born in October 2024. Xavi was born on 18 September last year, as reported by NeedToKnow.
But he passed away suddenly on Monday morning. Lisa said: “Xavi passed away unexpectedly and suddenly this morning. We haven’t even come to terms with it yet. Akka, Emilio, and I need time to process what has happened and ask you to please refrain from asking us and our families questions.”
Addressing the tragedy of her youngest son, the grieving mother said: “Our thoughts are with you, our little angel, and please, please, please watch over your brother from above and say hello to everyone in heaven for us, my darling. We love you endlessly, Xavi.”
She captioned a black and white photo of Xavi with the words: “Four months… and now you’re gone,” and continued to open up on the shock and upset in the emotional post.
She added: “So unexpected. My worst nightmare has become reality. How am I supposed to survive this? How does anyone cope? I wish I could hold you in my arms again… warm and cuddly.” The grieving family did not reveal the tot’s cause of death.
Lisa and Akka – an Austrian star of Too Hot To Handle Germany – struck up a relationship in 2023 and tied the knot the following year. When Lisa discovered she was expecting again, she admitted at the time that it had all come as a surprise but was ready to embrace becoming a mother again.
She told Bild: “It came as a big surprise. I suddenly had this gut feeling that I needed to take a test, even though I had no symptoms at all. When it came back positive, I was shocked – in a positive way.”
Temptation Island originally began in the US on the Fox network in 2001, and follows four married couples who travel to an island to test their fidelity.
It was cancelled after three seasons, but the format was revived in the US in 2019, where it streams on Netflix, and has also spawned several international editions. A British version aired on Sky One in the early 2000s and was fronted by late presenter Ed Hall, but the programme has yet to make a comeback in the UK.
