After the massive success of Saiyaara, Aneet Padda is now gearing up for another big-scale film, Shakti Shalini. The Aditya Sarpotdar directorial is a part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. Now, as per reports, the actress will play a double role in the film.
According to Mid-Day, the director has crafted two powerful roles for the actress. She will reportedly star in two roles, Shakti (the protector) and Shalini (the evil force).
The publication quoted a source as saying, “Rooted in Bengali folklore and mythology, the movie revolves around the eternal battle between good and evil. The story is about a vengeful female ghost dwelling in trees and water bodies, who punishes men, as she was betrayed and killed in a brutal manner. In Bengal, the goddess invoked to destroy evil spirits is Goddess Kali. She is recognised as the ultimate form of Shakti. Here, the character Shakti is pitted against the spirit.”

Aneet Padda was confirmed as the lead in Shakti Shalini last year. The announcement was made during the post-credit scenes of MHCU’s film Thamma. The makers described her character as “the creator, the destroyer, and the mother of all.”
Meanwhile, reports also suggest that Viineet Kumar Singh has joined the cast of the film. He will be seen stepping into the shoes of the lead antagonist, marking a fresh chapter in his career. Viineet Kumar Singh has been a name to watch out for recently, especially after his role in Chhaava alongside Vicky Kaushal and Jaat with Sunny Deol. According to reports from Variety India, he has already started filming for the project, which originally went into production last year.

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Shakti Shalini serves as the sixth movie in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. This franchise has already seen massive box office success with previous films such as Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, Stree 2, and Thamma. The film also marks a reunion for lead actors Vishal Jethwa and Aneet Padda. The duo previously collaborated in Salaam Venky, where their on-screen chemistry was highly appreciated by the audience.
