What did Rob Reiner say about Charlie Kirk?
That’s a commonly googled question these days, as millions seek to learn more about the life and legacy of film legend Rob Reiner.
As you’ve surely heard by now, Reiner and wife Michele Singer were murdered inside their Brentwood home on Sunday.

The couple’s 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested in connection with their deaths.
Because we live in the year 2025, many, including our current president, were unable to discuss this tragedy without seeking political gain.
Millions were shocked when President Donald Trump mocked Reiner’s death in a lengthy post on his Truth Social platform.
In the ensuing effort to justify the president’s bizarre tirade, many claimed that Reiner made similarly distasteful remarks following the murder of Charlie Kirk in September.
But he didn’t.
In an October interview with Piers Morgan, Reiner decried Kirk’s assassination and pleaded for an end to the recent wave of political violence.
“I unfortunately saw the video of it,” Reiner said at the time.
“It’s beyond belief what happened to him.” The attack “should never happen to anybody,” Reiner continued, adding:
“I don’t care what your political beliefs are. That’s not acceptable. That’s not a solution to solving problems.”
Reiner went on to praise Charlie’s wife, Erika Kirk, for forgiving her husband’s murderer during a memorial event.
“I’m Jewish but I believe in the teachings of Jesus and I believe in ‘do unto others’ and I believe in forgiveness and what she said to me was beautiful,” he told Morgan.
“She forgave his assassin. And I think that is admirable.”

The clip has resurfaced in the wake of Trump’s repeated attacks on Reiner, which seemed to stem from their differing political views.
In his posts, Trump alleged that Reiner died as a result of “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
“He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump,” Trump wrote.
“With his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness.”
In addition to directing numerous classic films, including The Princess Bride, Stand By Me, and When Harry Met Sally… Reiner was a fervent human rights activist.
Perhaps his greatest political success was his championing of Proposition 10, a California ballot initiative that called for taxes on cigarettes to fund early childhood development.
Family and friends fondly recall a man who was as outspoken in his beliefs as he was gifted at his craft.
Our thoughts go out to Rob Reiner and Michele Singer’s loved ones as they continue to process this unthinkable tragedy.
