Robert Duvall was seen weeks before his death lifting weights as he posted a clip of his exercise routine on his social media pages
Just weeks before his death, Robert Duvall filmed himself lifting weights. It’s thought it is the final video of The Godfather star before his death at home on Sunday at the age of 95.
The clip shows Robert sitting in a chair as he completed a number of reps with the dumbbell. He appeared to be focused on the computer screen as he uploaded the video to Facebook.
In the caption, Robert wrote: “I enjoy having a routine. Though I never went to the gym to get in shape for films. I preferred tennis, swimming, or horseback riding to keep me in shape.”

Another clip showed him wishing his followers a happy Thanksgiving. It’s said the star died peacefully at home in Virginia with his wife by his side. His wife, Luciana Pedraza, confirmed the sad news in a post on Facebook on Monday.
She said: “Yesterday we said goodbye to my beloved husband, cherished friend, and one of the greatest actors of our time. Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort.”
She went on to say: “To the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director, a storyteller. To me, he was simply everything. His passion for his craft was matched only by his deep love for characters, a great meal, and holding court.
“For each of his many roles, Bob gave everything to his characters and to the truth of the human spirit they represented. In doing so, he leaves something lasting and unforgettable to us all. Thank you for the years of support you showed Bob and for giving us this time and privacy to celebrate the memories he leaves behind.”
Robert was an Academy Award winning actor who was born in San Diego. He was one of three children, and grew up in Annapolis alongside his two brothers – William Jr and Jack.
In 1984, he won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance as Mac Sledge in Tender Mercies. He was also nominated for a number of Oscars over his impressive six decade career.
Speaking in 2022, Robert reflected on his long acting career. He explaining his approach to acting that led to him having a glittering career with a string of successful movies. However, he insisted, it was just an “easy” job for him.
He said: “Well, it can be easy! Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s difficult. Sometimes when it’s easy, that’s when it goes the best.
“Yeah, I did some research, obviously. But you just go with your instincts between “action” and “cut” and try to be as truthful as you can. Just like we’re doing now: you talk, I listen; I talk, you listen. It’s the same thing. Very simple.”
