Satish Shah passed away after a long kidney battle
On October 25, 2025, the television and film industry got its biggest shock as veteran actor and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai fame, Satish Shah tragically passed away from a long-battle with kidney-related complications. According to a report by India Today, the actor died on October 25, 2025, at around 2:30 pm at Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital. His manager reportedly revealed that Satish had recently undergone a transplant. The Kal Ho Naa Ho actor was 74 years, when he passed away.

The industry was shocked by Satish Shah’s unexpected death
Within minutes, a lot of actors and media portals offered their condolences and tributes to the legendary actor. Apart from them, one of the officials of Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA), Ashoke Pandit took to his Instagram handle to share the heartbreaking news of the actor. He had penned:
“Sad and shocked to inform you that our dear friend and a great actor Satish Shah has expired few hours ago due to kidney failure. He was rushed to Hinduja hospital where he breathed his last. A great loss to our industry. Om Shanti.”

Satish Shah was one of the most loved actors in the Indian film and television industry. He was known for outshining lead actors with his comedy and strong screen presence. Satish was born into a Gujarati family in Mumbai. After training, he started his acting journey in the 1970s, and slowly became a household name.

He rose to widespread recognition with the 1984 sitcom, Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi. Slowly and gradually, he appeared in TV shows like Ghar Jamai, Filmy Chakkar, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and more. Till 2025, a lot of fans remembered him as ‘Indravadan Sarabhai’. After success on television, Satish Shah shifted towards films.
