Reports of his funeral, confirmed the attendance of several film and TV stars.

Satish Shah’s on-screen son lent his shoulder for the former’s last rites

The last rites for beloved actor, Satish Shah were held in Mumbai on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The funeral took place at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, after his mortal remains were brought to his Bandra residence for public viewing. Many Indian celebrities, including his Sarabhai vs Sarabhai cast members, paid their last respects to Satish and even shouldered his body. Notably, the body of the deceased is carried by one’s son; however, Satish and his wife, Madhu Shah, are childless. In the absence of a real-life son, Satish’s reel-life son, Rajesh Kumar, stepped up and shouldered the responsibility.

Rajesh’s gesture showcased the heartwarming bond actors share with each other. He starred as Satish Shah’s child in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, which concluded over 2 decades ago, yet the bond between the cast members remains unbreakable. Fimmaker, Ashok Pandit, also shouldered Satish’s body. Satish’s on-screen wife, Ratna Pathak Shah, and on-screen daughter-in-law, Rupali Ganguli, were also seen getting emotional as they showed up at Satish’s funeral. Media outlets like PTI captured the visuals and shared them online. Among them, the video of Rajesh Kumar and Ashok Pandit lending their shoulder to the deceased went viral.

Satish Shah’s Sarabhai vs Sarabhai cast, Ratna Pathak Shah, was accompanied by her real-life husband, Naseeruddin Shah, at the former’s funeral. Choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan also arrived to pay her last respects to Satish. Veteran actor Suresh Oberoi, Neil Nitish Mukesh, Anjan Srivastava, Deven Bhojani, Johnny Lever, Tiku Talsania, Poonam Dhillon, Supriya Pathak, Pankaj Kapoor, and Jamuna Das Majithia also came to bid a final farewell to Satish Shah.

Filmmaker, David Dhawan, actors, Sharath Saxena, Dilip Tahil, Sumit Raghavan, and Anang Desai also paid their last respects to Satish Shah. Many, including Rupali Ganguli, sobbed inconsolably as Satish set out on his final journey. Satish Shah might have left us, but his legacy and decades of work in the entertainment industry will remain in our hearts forever.
