Savannah Guthrie Breaks Silence On Her Children’s Grief Amid Nancy’s Kidnapping, ‘It’s So Hard..’

Savannah Guthrie recently gave her first interview after her mother, Nancy Guthrie went missing nearly 2 months ago, on January 31, 2026. For the unversed, Savannah sat down for a candid chat with Hoda Kotb. Part 1 of the same has been released and the second one will be released on March 27, 2026. During the same, Savannah revealed that the most difficult part in Nancy’s missing case is answering the questions of her kids. 

Savannah Guthrie is not giving any false hopes to her children

During the candid interview with Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie revealed that along with the family, her kids are also grieving the disappearance of their grandmother. For those who do not know, Savannah is married to Michael Feldman and they share two children, Vale, who is 11 years old and Charley, who is 9. Talking about how she wants to protect them from this devastating incident, Savannah shared:

“It’s so hard with kids, you know, because you want to protect them. Vale would write me all the time, ‘Mama, any leads? You hear anything? Any hope?’ We try to talk to them and try to give them a little more certainty than we have, to let them grieve.”

Savannah Guthrie’s first reaction after knowing about Nancy Guthrie’s missing

During the same interview, Savannah Guthrie revealed the entire family’s first reaction after Nancy went missing. It is worth mentioning that Savannah’s sister, Annie was the first person to know about Nancy and when she called the Today host, the two first felt that Nancy might have gone through a medical episode and due to the same she would have visited a local hospital. In her words:

“From the very early moments Annie and Tommy were saying, ‘This isn’t that case that you are used to where someone wanders off. She can’t wander off’. My mom, she was in tremendous pain. Her back was very bad… on a good day, she could walk down to the mailbox and get the mail, but most days not. So there was no ‘wander off.’ And the doors were propped open and there was blood on the front doorstep and the Ring camera had been ripped off, and so we were saying, ‘This is not okay. Something is very wrong here.'”

For those who do not know, Nancy was last seen on January 31, 2026, and the next day a complaint was filed by the family. In the past seven weeks, the police surveillance footage showed a masked man outside Nancy’s house. During the candid chat with Hoda Kotb, Savannah revealed that she initially felt that her fame might be the reason behind Nancy’s kidnapping. She was quoted as saying:

“I don’t know that it’s because she’s my mom and somebody thought, ‘Oh, that girl— that lady has money. We can … make a quick buck.’ I mean, that would make sense. But we don’t know. Which is too much to bear, to think that I brought this to her bedside. That it’s because of me.”

Who is Michael Feldman?

If reports are to be believed, Savannah Guthrie’s husband, Michael Feldman comes from a political background. He once worked as a Democratic political aide for eight years in the Clinton-Gore White House. However, later, he stepped away from politics and started his business consulting practice. He worked as a consultant. Reportedly, he met Savannah in 2008, through mutual friends and by 2009, they started dating.
