For the first time in 12 years, the Seahawks are back on top of the NFL — and the start of another Patriots dynasty will have to wait.

Seattle’s defense dominated New England and left Santa Clara, Calif. with a 29-13 win Sunday night.

The Seahawks didn’t need to decide whether to hand the ball off at the 1-yard line in the waning seconds of the game, like they did in 2015 when Russell Wilson threw his infamous interception in the Patriots’ Super Bowl XLIX victory.

Instead, they relied on five Jason Myers field goals, a Sam Darnold touchdown to AJ Barner and a defense that shut out the Patriots for three quarters before eventually allowing a touchdown — from Drake Maye to Mack Hollins — early in the fourth quarter.

Kenneth Walker paced the offense with 27 carries for 135 yards.

Maye’s first appearance in the Super Bowl in his second season turned into a nightmare, reaching a low point in the fourth quarter when he committed a pair of turnovers.

Ex-Giant Julian Love intercepted a pass, and then Uchenna Nwosu scooped up a fumble and returned it 44 yards for a touchdown to end any drama that was left in the game.
