Sean McVay 0n Rams’ loss, ‘these can be blessings in disguise’

The Los Angeles Rams (9-3) just lost to the Carolina Panthers (7-6) in perhaps the biggest upset of the week and one of the bigger updates of the season, and per usual Sean McVay had to address the media after the latest blunder to address how the team is feeling after the upset, how the team will plan to move forward, and the head coach offered a sincere response that losses can be “blessing in disguise”, though fans may not want to hear that right now.

Said McVay about the loss and responding the right way:

“…these can be blessings in disguise if you use them the right way. You didn’t want it to happen; we came out here with the expectation to win the football game. It didn’t go down like that for us and…and now we get a chance to be able to move forward, and see how we handle a little bit of a challenge…it’s been a while since we’ve felt this way.”

The players, the coaches and the fans should be disappointed after a loss in which Matthew Stafford had three turnovers, and the team still managed to lose by only three points, and still had several opportunities to earn the victory in the final moments.

The Rams didn’t get blown-out, but they showed up off compared to how they played during their six-game win streak, and they got beat. It’s not the end of the season, but it’s not a good way to end what otherwise had been a strong November for L.A.

So far, the Rams have lost a total of three times this year, and L.A. was able to respond to their previous two losses with a win, and if the Rams respond in Week 14 with a win over the Arizona Cardinals, then they’ll be back to where they want to be.

If the Rams lose in back-t0-back weeks, McVay may not be talking about “blessings in disguise”, he’ll more likely be talking about how they need to get right before they run out of time.
