Shah Rukh Khan may be gearing up for a reunion with filmmaker Farah Khan after nearly 12 years. This may happen right after his upcoming project King. Speculation around Farah developing a sequel to Main Hoon Na has been doing the rounds for quite some time now. According to a report by Pinkvilla, Main Hoon Na 2 is currently shaping up to be a strong contender for SRK’s next theatrical project. The report suggests that discussions between the superstar and the director are progressing steadily. It has hinted at a possible comeback collaboration after more than a decade.

For those unaware, Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan have worked together in some of Hindi cinema’s most iconic films. They have worked in Main Hoon Na (2004), Om Shanti Om (2007) and Happy New Year (2014). After the 2014 collaboration, the two haven’t made films together. Now, Main Hoon Na 2 might be their next collaboration as it is reportedly shaping up to be a big project.

As per the report, Farah Khan has also cracked a double role concept for Shah Rukh Khan. Interestingly, SRK is also excited about the same. It states, “The idea is said to elevate the emotion and entertainment quotient of the sequel, while SRK will explore two contrasting characters.”

The report also states that the original cast is returning. Moreover, the movie may have a patriotism angle. It further states, “The central theme revolves around a new threat to India, and the narrative will balance action with comedy. Interestingly, the core story idea has come from Shah Rukh Khan himself.” Moreover, the idea is reportedly being developed now into screenplay by Aakash Kaushik.
