In the world of Bollywood, being a star kid comes with its own set of experiences. Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of actor Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, recently shared some insights into her life during a fun interaction. Shanaya, who made her debut in 2025 with Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan with Vikrant Massey, spoke about the unique advantages and some humorous reality checks that come with having famous parents.

The conversation took place when Farah Khan visited Shanaya’s home for a vlog. Joining them was Shanaya’s Tu Yaa Main co-star, Adarsh Gourav. During the visit, Farah asked Shanaya what it was truly like to have star parents. Responding to the question, Shanaya highlighted how their presence helps her professionally. She said, “It’s good to have a star mother and father because they help me promote the film.”

However, it isn’t always about the spotlight being on her. Shanaya shared a funny incident about a time she was humbled by her mother’s popularity. She recalled going to a theatre to watch Marty Supreme with Maheep. Seeing a group of girls approaching, Shanaya assumed they were there for her since her film’s trailer had just released.

Shanaya shared, “I was standing there with my phone and I saw a group of girls walking towards us. I was like, ‘Oh, the trailer has just released and they might want a photo with me.’ I was about to get up, and these girls went to my mum saying, ‘We are such big fans of you,’ and they asked, ‘Can you please take a photo of us with your mum ?” Farah Khan added to this jokingly, mentioning that she faces similar situations where fans sometimes prefer photos with her cook, Dilip, over her.

On the work front, while her debut film received mixed reviews and struggled at the box office, Shanaya remains focused on her journey. She mentioned that she didn’t take the reception to heart as she was already immersed in her next project, Tu Yaa Main. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar and produced by Aanand L Rai, the film is described as a youthful take on love and survival. It is set to hit screens this Friday on February 13.
