Shedeur Sanders, Jerry Jeudy get animated in sideline conversation during Browns’ loss

Shedeur Sanders and Jerry Jeudy still seem to be working out the bugs between the two of them as the rookie quarterback has taken over during the past two weeks for the Browns.

That led to a rather animated conversation on Sunday on the sideline at the start of the fourth quarter, and the exchange was captured by the CBS broadcast.

The pair were looking over something on one of the team tablets, and Jeudy appeared to be aggressively explaining something to Sanders.

At one point, Sanders seemed to point with emphasis at the tablet, which frustrated Jeudy, and then after the Browns QB seemed to indicate something else to him and the wide receiver appeared to shout, “That’s wrong.”

Browns center Ethan Pocic eventually stood up to get in between Sanders and Jeudy to cool things down.

The Browns lost Sunday’s game, 26-8, to the 49ers.

Jeudy finished the game with three catches for just 26 yards and was targeted four times.

An early pass attempt seemed to highlight the miscommunication between Sanders and Jeudy when the quarterback threw it just out of his reach.

But some fans also pointed to the receiver seemingly not giving 100 percent on the play.

Sanders took the blame for the issue on the near touchdown pass.

“I would say overall it’s about spending time,” Sanders told reporters. “It’s about spending time in those situations and being able to gauge. So all quarterbacks know you got to cut through the wind whenever you throw. So then at the same time you’re gauging the speed and time and distance and travel and everything, and I just calculated off. That’s all it was. It was just a missed shot. So then when I miss that shot I got to stay on myself, keep shooting.

“This team is not going to be a microwave thing. We’re going to have sparks here and there, but it’s going to take time to be able to develop that chemistry with everybody, to be on the same page with Jerry.”

Jeudy has come under increased scrutiny this season and currently leads the NFL in dropped passes with nine.

The two will get another chance to get on the same page next week with Sanders once again tapped as the starter.
