Woman charged with attempted murder after shooting at Rihanna’s Los Angeles mansion – everything you need to know
- A Florida woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing gunshots at Rihanna’s Los Angeles mansion while the superstar and her family were inside.
- Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, was charged with one count of attempted murder and 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm following Sunday’s shooting. The Grammy-winning singer, her partner ASAP Rocky, and their three children were reportedly at home during the incident. No one was injured in the terrifying incident at the Beverly Hills property.
- Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell told media that “10 people were at home at the time” but did not confirm if the celebrities were present when shots were fired.
- The LA Times claimed that LAPD radio dispatch for the incident said that “approximately 10 shots” had been fired at the residence from a vehicle across the street from the property’s gate. The vehicle, a white Tesla, then fled south on Coldwater Canyon Drive, per the dispatch audio.
- The suspect allegedly threatened the Umbrella singer on social media in the days before driving from Florida to carry out the attack. She is being held on £8.1 million bail whilst awaiting arraignment.
- Ortiz wrote on Instagram: “@badgalriri Are you there? Cause I was waiting for your AIDS 5-head self to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you talking to me where I’m not at,” according to TMZ.
- Ortiz also reads from the Bible daily on her YouTube channel, where she hosts her Praying Woman’s Journal series daily to a handful of subscribers. In one chilling video from two months ago, she told her viewers: “Rihanna, when you die, God is taking me to my future.” Ortiz went on to brand Rihanna a “witch”, adding, “Get that stupid girl out of here.”
- TMZ claimed that Rihanna had been spotted heading to the airport on Monday as the aftermath played out.
