Sinitta has issued a shocking confession regarding her previous marriage to Andy Willner and her feelings towards previous on-off partner, Simon Cowell

Sinitta has revealed her failed marriage with Andy Willner was a “revenge move” as she targeted Simon Cowell. And the pop icon also confessed that staying friends with the music mogul’s partner Lauren Silverman helped her find closure.

Sinitta, 62, has finally opened up on her relationship with the Britain’s Got Talent supremo as she laid bare her feelings. The duo had first met in a London nightclub when the songstress was a teenager in the early 1980s.

After their on-off romance that spanned over 20 years, Sinitta and Simon remained good friends – with the pop star even becoming a regular on his reality series. But now Sinitta has revealed the underlying feelings of her time following their split.

“I was trying to make that relationship it,” she said during a chat on the Suddenly Single podcast. She went on: “His narrative was just be patient, and you’ll have everything you want.

“I assumed everything I wanted meant a normal family life with him. And then he met the love of his life and had a child. Silly me.”

After her confession she went on to stun with her next reveal concerning her marriage to businessman Andy Willner. The pair tied the knot in 2002 and adopted children Magdalena and Zac. But Sinitta claimed the marriage was simply a reaction to Simon’s refusal to settle.

She exclaimed: “The man that I married was actually a lovely person. It was a bit of a revenge move at the time, but it developed into something. But even during that relationship, it was obvious that there was unfinished business [with Simon].”

The couple split after seven years and Andy moved to Hong Kong. But Sinitta admitted she was always looking at “retaliation relationships” as she tried to prove a point to Simon.

She continued: “It would be, “Well, if he’s done that, then I’ll date Brad Pitt, I’ll date this model”,’ she said. ‘But always intentionally thinking we will be together when we stop being crazy.

“Because I would have been ready to go at any time, but it was like my pride needed me to go and have a retaliation relationship to show I’m not desperate.”

Despite her feelings, Sinitta decided to remain close to Simon’s now fiancee, Lauren, 48. The duo started dating in 2013 and share son Eric together. Sinitta is even the 12-year-old’s godmother.

Sinitta explained how she was best friends with Lauren and continued to work with her. “So I did a lot of, I think, self-harm by trying to squash all my feelings,” she confessed.
