The much-loved couple, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, who tied the knot in May 2018, have officially welcomed their second child. For those who do not know, they embraced parenthood in 2022, with the birth of their son, Vayu. Later, in November 2025, the couple announced their second pregnancy. Now, Sonam shared a heartfelt post on her Instagram handle to announce the birth of their child.

Sonam Kapoor confirms the birth of their second son

A while ago, Sonam Kapoor took to her Instagram handle to announce the birth of her and Anand Ahuja’s second son. The baby boy was born on March 29, 2026. In the post, Sonam penned a long note, in which she revealed that the entire family is very happy to welcome another boy. Further, the note had shared that their elder son, Vaju is overjoyed to see his younger brother. The note can be read as:

“With immense gratitude and hearts full of love, we are delighted to announce the arrival of our baby boy today, 29th of March 2026. Our family has grown, and with his arrival, our hearts have expanded in the most beautiful way. Vayu is overjoyed to welcome his little brother, and we feel deeply blessed by this precious new life who has filled our home with happiness and grace. We are grateful to begin this beautiful new chapter as a family of four. With love, Sonam, Anand & Vayu.”

When Sonam Kapoor announced her second pregnancy

In November 2025, Sonam Kapoor took to her Instagram handle to announce her second pregnancy. For those who do not know, in the post, Sonam was seen wearing an amazing pink outfit, in which confidently flaunted her baby bump. It is worth noting that she was gently holding her baby bump. She captioned the post as “Mother.”

Coming to Sonam Kapoor’s baby shower, it was held at her Mumbai home in February 2026. The godh bharai was attended by several Bollywood celebrities. It is worth noting that for the big day, Sonam Kapoor opted for a lime green lehenga featuring floral embroidery. She tied her hair in a neat bun and accessorised with a heavy necklace, earrings, and bangles.

When Sonam Kapoor opened up about motherhood

In 2023, Sonam Kapoor had attended an event in Mumbai, during which she opened up about embracing motherhood. She described the birth of Vayu as magical and stated that it was the best thing that ever happened to her. She also appreciated her husband, Anand Ahuja for staying beside her during the delivery. She was quoted as saying:

“When I delivered my baby and he was in my arms, it was one of the best things I felt. There is a feeling of euphoria. I had a natural birth and it was the most amazing moment. My husband was next to me and the doctor who helped me deliver the baby was my mother’s close friend. I had the people who love me around me- my parents, my sister, my in-laws. It was just the best moment of my life. It is really life changing when you give birth to a child.”
