Sophie Turner and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin are rumoured to de dating with an unexpected link between the pair and her ex-husband Joe Jonas now surfacing online
Sophie Turner sobbed over a birthday message from her reported new love interest Chris Martin in a video her ex-husband Joe Jonas arranged for her.
The Game Of Thrones star is reportedly father of two dating Chris, 48, following her split from recent boyfriend of two years Peregrine Pearson. Sophie, 29, is seen in the 2020 video from Joe’s Cup Of Joe podcast surprising her with the message from Chris who she recently went on a ‘secret’ date with according to reports.
The pair are seated in a restaurant when Joe passes his phone to Sophie and says, “I have someone who wants to say happy birthday.” Sophie glances at the screen and then throws her hands to her face in shock as she squeals, “It’s Chris Martin!”
Chris is then seen saying: “This is Chris from Coldplay, I wanted to say on behalf of me and the even more handsome members of our band, have the best day and I sending you all my love and I hope your having the best time.” He then signs off the video adding: “Thanks for being awesome, bye,” before blowing a kiss to the camera.
A thrilled looking Sophie is then seen fighting back tears and clasping her face in her hands as she exclaims, “I’m not going to cry on camera,” and gives the phone back to Joe. Joe laughed at Sophie and then the pair high-fived one another as they looked visibly happy and excited.
Chris has been single for a few months after his eight year relationship with Dakota Johnson, 35, ended in June when they called time on their engagement. Sophie, 29, and Peregrine appeared to be on and off over the summer before officially splitting following a high-society wedding in late September.
At the time the pair were reportedly seen arguing between kissing passionately on the dancefloor. However, Sophie appeared to not be too heartbroken over the split as she reportedly went on a date with Chris just a week later.
Sophie and Joe married in 2019 and share two daughters Willa, four, and Delphine, two. They finalised their divorce in September 2024, just over a year after Joe filed the paperwork.

“Dakota held a flame for them to be together because she loved him so much and loved his kids so much.”
The insider continued: “Breakups aren’t instant and they continued to breakup and makeup and sometimes things would work when they were away from each other, while they were working.
“Because absence makes the heart grow fonder, but then they’d get back together and little things just kept adding up to where they weren’t right for each other anymore.”
