Lachlan Kennedy has run one of the fastest times ever by an Australian on home soil to win the 100 metres in 10.03 seconds at the Maurie Plant Meet in Melbourne.

Kennedy, who last year became only the second Australian ever to break the 10-second barrior, ran a meet record to run 10 seconds flat to hold out world championships semi-finalist Rohan Browning (10.25s).
