Dianne Buswell has shared a touching update on life as a new mum with her fans. The Strictly Come Dancing star posted on Instagram to mark her first weekend with her newborn baby with partner Joe Sugg.
Sharing a photo of the infant snuggled into her chest as she doted over him Dianne wrote: “Our first weekend of many together my little Bowie. P.s can confirm he did not inherit my toe thumb.” She also shared a second picture where she was enjoying a healthy breakfast prepared for her by Joe as he took over caring for their newborn child.
Holding up a bowl full of yoghurt, granola and fruits Dianne wrote: “When Daddy makes you breakfast in bed.” She tagged Joe in the picture, with baby Bowden visible laying on his chest in the background of the image.

Dianne and Joe announced the arrival of their new addition in a heart-warming joint post on social media on Wednesday, March 18. They wrote: “Never felt a love like it,” and uploaded three cute pictures, revealing that the baby is called Bowden Mark Richard Sugg and that he was born on Monday (16 March).
Pictures showed the baby sleeping while wrapped up in a blanket and a blue hat, being carried out of the hospital by Joe and cuddled up to mum Dianne. The middle names are thought to be references to beloved relatives. Dianne’s father is called Mark while Joe’s late grandfather, who died in 2021, was called Richard.
Their post was liked by many of the Strictly family, including Nadiya Bychkova and Amy Dowden, who wrote: “Utter perfection. So happy for you both, welcome baby Bowden! I can’t wait for cwtches [which is cuddles in Welsh] xxxx.”
Pro dancer Dianne, 36, announced in September that she was pregnant. She and Joe later announced they were having a son on Instagram with a video set to Elton John’s Tiny Dancer. It was captioned: “Our little baby boy. We cannot wait to meet you.”
The couple met on the 2018 series, when they were partnered with one another. In an adorable announcement when the show finished, Joe, 34, referenced how he had not won the Glitterball but had won something much better and confirmed their romance.
Since then, the pair have gone from strength to strength and have always been adamant about their desire to have children together. That happened for the pair when they announced in September 2025 that they were expecting. In an adorable video posted on social media, the pair painted a picture of three stick figures to announce they were expecting a baby in 2026.
In an Instagram post shared last weekend, Dianne said she was on the brink of giving birth. “Another week with the bump,” she said adding: “Gonna miss the bump. Soon there will be a little dude in our arms.”
Dianne previously opened up about motherhood and how “demanding” her job is, but she would happily take a career break to have child. She said: “It is quite tough because my job is quite demanding, and I love it so much.
“It is a tough one to balance out and think about. It would take a lot of thought, but eventually one day we will get there, but there is lots happening at the moment. It will happen when it’s supposed to.”
