A teenage driver has been charged after an 18-year-old man allegedly fell from the roof of a moving car on the Mornington Peninsula during schoolies week.
The injured teenager was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition.

He was one of two teenagers allegedly riding on the roof of the car when he fell to the ground at St Andrews Beach about 6.50pm on Sunday.
On Monday morning, police said the alleged driver of the car – an 18-year-old man from Glen Waverley in Melbourne’s east – has been charged with a spate of offences, including driving in a dangerous manner causing serious injury, reckless conduct endangering life and careless driving.
It is alleged five 18-year-old men were inside a Holden Cruze and two 18-year-old males were on top of the vehicle.
Police said the car was moving through a car park on Paradise Road at low speed when one of the males slid from the roof and fell onto the road.
The Age understands the teenagers were on the Mornington Peninsula celebrating schoolies week.
Somerville Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. Police urged anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
The driver was bailed to appear before Dromana Magistrates’ Court on January 22.
