Telangana Ready for Panchayat Polls; SEC Confirms All Arrangements in Place

Hyderabad: State Election Commissioner Rani Kumudini announced that all arrangements have been completed for Thursday’s Panchayat elections. Speaking to the media, she said that the police department has taken charge of security and law-and-order measures to ensure smooth polling.

She stated that vote counting will begin immediately after the polling concludes. The SEC informed that 395 villages in the first phase and 495 villages in the second phase have already elected their representatives unanimously.
So far, officials have seized ₹8.2 crore during inspections. A total of 50,000 civil police personnel will be on duty, and 60 platoons from outside have been brought in to strengthen security, she added.
