Kate Ferdinand is said to be “desperate” to leave Dubai and head back to the UK amid the conflict that has kicked off in the Emirates city over the last few days
Kate Ferdinand is said to be “desperate” to leave Dubai and head back to the UK. The WAG, 34, is married to professional footballer Rio Ferdinand and they moved to the Emirates city in August along with their children.
In recent days, though, their usual lifestyle has been turned upside down after Israel and the United States launched strikes on Iran, sparking retaliation attacks. Iran has responded by targeting nearby countries Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, Jordan and Oman Iran has attacked Dubai, damaging Dubai International Airport and landmarks like the Fairmont The Palm hotel in the Palm Jumeirah area and the Burj Al Arab hotel.
Now, it’s thought that model Kate really wanted to leave Dubai and head home long before the conflict began, but only now has she put her foot down and demanded they make their return to Britain.

A source said: “Kate desperately wants home now. Her Dubai bubble burst ages ago, but she’s been sticking it out for Rio and the sake of their family, believing it was for the best for the children. But now she’s drawn a line under it and told him she wants back in the UK ASAP.”
The insider claimed that Kate is “absolutely terrified” of the situation that is developing out there and has taken refuge in the basement of the house she shares with her husband.
Speaking to The Sun, the source added: “She’s absolutely terrified and won’t come out of the basement. Rio has been very supportive, so it’s likely they’ll be back ASAP as Kate can’t cope. She was even asking if they could get a private plane back.”
The Mirror has contacted Kate’s representatives for comment.
The claims about their situation come just one day after Rio went into detail about what the last few days have entailed, revealing the family took shelter in the basement for safety. “Been a different week for me, not going to lie,” he said on Rio Ferdinand Presents.
“Firstly, I’m in great condition this morning as the whole family did a workout. A bit like in Covid, the whole family is doing things we wouldn’t usually be doing together.
“Home-schooling a bit today. It’s frightening when you hear missiles, planes and fighter jets – I don’t know what it is – going above us, and you’re hearing big bombs, and what that is we don’t know as we don’t know the details of what they are.

“It’s telling your kids what it is and helping them navigate through this moment, which is important especially as the dad of the house. You want to try and remain calm and keep everybody as calm as possible.
“I’ve got to be honest guys, it’s been a bit of a scary situation but at the same time weirdly enough I’ve felt very secure and looked after. My studio has become my bunker.
“We were advised to go into the basement on the first night of all the noise started and we were down here sleeping with duvets and stuff. We are utilising the space wisely.”
The UK government’s advice for the UAE currently reads: “Due to reported missile attacks, British nationals in UAE should immediately shelter in place. Remain indoors in a secure location, avoid all travel and follow instructions from the local authorities.”
