The 21-year-old daughter of Tess Daly and Vernon Kay has revealed she has moved to New York as she said the location ‘has my heart’

Tess Daly and Vernon Kay’s 21-year-old daughter is fleeing the nest – and the UK – for a new life across the pond. Phoebe has revealed she has quit England to star afresh stateside, at least for the time being.

The nepo baby shared the news on TikTok, revealing her immediate future lies away from Blighty. In the social media clip, Phoebe is seen dancing in New York. The footage shows the Empire State building in the background, with the picturesque New York skyline on full show.

Phoebe captioned her upload: “NYC has my hearttt! Lucky to call it home for a while.” While she stopped short of explaining why she has moved, it doesn’t look like it’s a permanent fixture. She failed to disclose how long the move will be for.

However, the decision sees her follow in mum Tess’ footsteps. In the 90s, the former Strictly host, 56, made the same move as she lived in NYC for five years. She worked as a fashion model at the time.

Phoebe was joined at the start of her trip by her parents, who both took to social media to share their pride. And it remains to be seen whether they’ll be making the venture themselves.

Following Tess’ decision to step down from her Strictly role, reports suggested Vernon was keen to give the US another crack. Tess had been the face of the BBC dance show alongside Claudia Winkleman for over a decade.

And while Vernon has continued with his impressive career alongside his wife’s work, it’s thought he now wants to try America again. Vernon previously admitted he was too “inexperienced” when he first tried to succeed stateside.

But in 2024, while speaking to Annie MacManus on her podcast Changes, Vernon said: “Well, flippantly, I’d like another crack at America because I think I messed up. I did three network shows for America.

“I wouldn’t say I messed that up. I think looking back, I was inexperienced. I think, knowing, being more confident in myself and the way I work, I’d like another go at a game show in America. That’s a big change.”

When he spoke of his presenting duties previously in the States, Vernon went on to touch on on his past roles with ABC and NBC. He said: “They lasted a series.

“If you want a laugh, go on YouTube and watch a game show I hosted called the Million Dollar Mind Game. It’s basically me doing an impression of Roger Moore.”
