Best Supporting Actress nominee, Teyana Taylor, was not happy at the Oscars on Sunday after claiming a man on the red carpet had ‘put his hands on her’

Oscar nominee, Teyana Taylor, was fuming last night when the ceremony wrapped up. The actress, 35 – who lost out on an award for her role in One Battle After Another – was hoping to bag the coveted gong for the flick, which also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, who was up for Best Actor.

It was Teyana’s first nomination at the Oscars and she dressed to impress wearing a gorgeous strapless Chanel gown with her hair and makeup done to perfection. However, after losing out on the award to Weapons star, Amy Madigan, Teyana was caught up in a tense confrontation shortly after the broadcast ended after claiming a man had ‘shoved her’.

As the toast of Tinseltown bustled out the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Teyana tried to nip backstage for a Best Picture photo with her One Battle After Another co-stars.

However, as she milled through the crowd, she accused a man on the red carpet of ‘putting his hands on her’. Visibly angry, Teyana can be heard saying: “You do not put your hands on a female. That’s very rude. That’s very rude.” Teyana continued: “You don’t put your hands on a female… He literally shoved me!”

According to TMZ, the actress was trying to return to the stage alongside Pam Abdi, co-head of Warner Bros., when a security guard attempted to stop them from going up the stairs.

Sources say the guard used his body to block Teyana and put his hands on her, trying to physically hold her back and push her away from the stage to prevent her from getting past him.

Responding to the clip of the skirmish, which has now gone viral on X, one fan wrote: “Teyana Taylor didn’t hold back. Good for her. Nobody should get touched without consent, especially on a stage like the that.”

Meanwhile, another quipped: “Touching Teyana Taylor at the Oscars? Bro had zero survival instincts.”

Teyana was beaten to the Best Actress trophy by Amy Madigan, 75, whose epic performance as Gladys in Weapons won her the award. The pair competed against Wunmi Mosaku from Sinners, along with Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas and Elle Fanning from Sentimental Value.

While Wunmi and Inga smiled and applauded when Gladys’ name was read out, Teyana leapt from her seat to give a standing ovation, prompting some viewers to question whether the gesture was overly theatrical.

“Teyana Taylor faking the happiness, girl sit down and relax,” one viewer commented on X. Meanwhile, another mused: “Why did Teyana jump like that? Lol. Amy deserves it even though I wanted Wunmi to win.”
