The Beauty Season 1 has come to an end after a major twist, with ‘Cooper Madsen’ planning to infect himself by sleeping with ‘Jordan Bennett’, so he can get close enough to kill ‘Byron Frost’, the man who caused it all. However, his plan backfires when ‘Cooper’ transforms into a 12-year-old boy. And before the group can figure out another plan, ‘Byron’ releases ‘The Beauty’ to the public a day early. A week later, the virus has spread across the globe, and the story shifts to a high school student, ‘Bella’, who is obsessed with beauty. Influenced by her wealthy friend getting “the jab”, she considers secretly getting ‘The Beauty’ despite her parents’ disapproval. Warning: Spoilers ahead!
The Beauty Season 1 finale: Beautiful Betrayal
The episode began with ‘Tig’ and ‘Gunther’ injecting ‘Franny’ with ‘The Beauty’ without her consent as a gift from their father, ‘Byron’. While the procedure makes her physically young and attractive, she is extremely hurt and furious, as she feels it erased everything she had achieved in her long life. The result? She slits her throat and nearly dies, only to end up on life support. Meanwhile, ‘Bella’ reaches out to ‘Conor’ to get her hands on ‘The Beauty’. The latter is a black market that spreads the virus through consensual s*x, infecting people like an STD.

This version is unstable and short-lived, but ‘Bella’ desperately wants it. To get the body of her dream, she steals money from her parents and sleeps with ‘Conor’ to get infected. Unfortunately, it doesn’t end well for her as soon after, ‘Bella’ mutates into a horrifying monster, discovered by her terrified mother. The scene ends with ‘Byron’ meeting his board, only to learn about the serious risks, which include an 83 per cent success rate and hundreds of thousands of incidents. With public backlash growing, ‘Byron’ decides to shut down the clinics, offer free boosters, and compensate victims.

The Beauty finale ending explained
‘Tig’ and “robot girl”, aka ‘Dr Sterling’, the creator of a race of androids called ‘Deacons’, enter the scene. The two of them have teamed up and are pushing back against ‘Byron’s’ “quitting”. While ‘Tig’ wants ‘Byron’ to go to prison and not pay a dime, the latter has had a change of heart after his wife’s attempted suicide and won’t back down. Meanwhile, ‘Sterling’ feels like she can help by having her AI analyse ‘The Beauty’ to determine what’s wrong and stabilise its effects. However, in return, she gets what she wants: unlimited resources to make it happen. ‘Tig’, on the other hand, gets attacked by his dad in the lobby and throws a fit.

Meanwhile, in a ‘Matrix’ parody, ‘Bennett’, ‘Cooper’, ‘Antonio’ and ‘Jeremy’ channel their inner Men In Black persona and meet with ‘Tig’ and ‘Sterling’. The latter decides to manipulate the heroic four by lying that ‘Byron’ was the one who dosed ‘Franny’ and proposed that they eliminate ‘Byron’ so they can take charge. To sweeten the deal further, ‘Sterling’ revealed that she has the cure for ‘The Beauty’. This leads ‘Cooper’, who is now physically 12 years old, to be interested in reversing the process. However, others are not so much.

‘Tig’ reveals he has perfected the boosters and will keep them flowing if they work for him. They give the first “cure” to ‘Cooper’, who then goes through the whole seizure/Gremlins/sack deal. However, the question remains: Did it work? Well, a hand emerges from the sack, but we don’t get to see who comes out. Nonetheless, based on the horrified expression on ‘Bennett’s’ face, and the shocked looks on ‘Antonio’ and ‘Jeremy’, the chances seem pretty thin. Anyhow, that is now a question that will only be answered if the show is back for Season 2.

Will there be The Beauty Season 2, or has the series been cancelled?
The Beauty hasn’t been renewed or cancelled for Season 2 so far. However, it’s not surprising for an FX show or a Hulu show. While we don’t have any authentic ratings for the series yet, the key here would be to see what FX and Ryan Murphy have decided. Given that this comes from the FX side of things, Ryan often has the free option to continue shows if he wants to with the network. So, unless The Beauty has a terrible secret rating, with a cliffhanger like that, the show will probably return for Season 2.
Although nothing has been confirmed yet, the buzz is that, like the first season, which was filmed through the end of 2024 into 2025, and came out early 2026. It is possible it could turn around quickly and film this year for a 2027 premiere, but more likely, given the level of star power involved, that it would film end of this year, into next year, and come out in 2028.
