According to the Times, just ten doctors have prescribed more than half of all cannabis drugs since they were legalised for medical use in the UK in 2019. The paper says there are concerns that some clinics may have been set up to prescribe patients with what they say they want, irrespective of whether there is any evidence that cannabis can help with their complaint. The Department for Health said it expected regulators to crack down on private clinics that prescribed without the prior research required.
