LAS VEGAS — The Spurs are young, they’re fast, their guards are dynamic athletes. For much of the first three quarters, they were making the Knicks appear slower and older. 

Even the typically menial task of bringing the ball up the court was sludge. 

But the tide turned at the start of the fourth quarter in Vegas, where Mitchell Robinson’s greatest asset was on full and dominating display.

The backup nabbed six offensive rebounds in just seven minutes of the final period, adding possession upon possession upon possession to the Knicks’ offense. A miss meant little when Robinson was roaming the paint, and the 124-113 Knicks NBA Cup victory on Tuesday might be defined by this improbable sentence:
