This Morning viewers were left confused when Cat Deeley did not appear on Tuesday’s edition of the ITV show and Strictly star Angela Scanlon was in her place
This Morning viewers were left wondering where Cat Deeley was on Tuesday morning as the ITV show continued without her. The presenter, 49, normally fronts the ITV Daytime series alongside Ben Shephard throughout the week, but was nowhere to be seen as the titles rolled today.
In her place was Angela Scanlon, famed for her hosting roles on The One Show and her acclaimed stint on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023, but there was no real explanation of where Cat was.
Ben simply said: “Cat’s away, so I get a little playdate with Angela for a few days.” Angela, who is married to Roy Horgan and has daughters Ruby and Marnie with him, simply said she was thrilled to be there and joked that half term had been like a “boxing match” at home.

She added: “A lovely cuddly boxing match! [I’ve got a] four-year-old and a soon-to-be eight-year-old. She turns eight tomorrow.” Angela’s co-host then asked her how she is planning to celebrate her daughter’s birthday.
She said: “Well, we got birthday bangs yesterday. A birthday haircut. Very grown-up… I don’t know where…I think Hannah Montana may be inspired, but she wanted bangs, and you know she’s eight, so you get what you want when you’re eight!”

The Mirror has contacted Cat Deeley’s representatives for comment.
Viewers rushed to social media to wonder where Cat was. One wrote on X: “No Cat today?” whilst another pointed out a slight blooper from just before the programme went to air, as they said: “The continuity announcer obvs didn’t get the memo re Cat”
A third, thrilled to have seen Angela on screen, wrote: “Breath of fresh air having Angela Scanlon presenter!” This is not the first time the former Celebrity Apprentice star has appeared on the ITV magazine show, though.
Angela, who also hosts a podcast with close friend Vicky Pattison, first took the reins of the programme just before Christmas alongside Dermot O’Leary, who normally provides cover with Alison Hammond.At the time, views warmed to the presenter immediately, with many taking to social media to share their thoughts. One wrote on X: “I like Angela, she is very mischievous, and I like that!”
Another said: “Angela Scanlon is FANTASTIC hosting This Morning. Needs to be full-time,” whilst a third wrote: “Angela Scanlon makes This Morning instantly more watchable. She’d be my first choice to replace Claudia (Winkleman) on Strictly – similar adorable quirky energy!”
