Nayanthara had won her first Filmfare award in 2012. She won in the Best Actress – Telugu category for the movie Sri Rama Rajyam. In total, Nayanthara has won five Filmfare awards. Nayanthara portrayed the role of Seetha Devi in Sri Rama Rajyam. Her performance in the film focused on the emotional and heavily challenging phase of the Ramayana, including Sita’s exile, life in the forest and the Agni Pariksha that she had to go through. Her second win was in the Best Actress – Tamil category for Raja Rani. Taking the stage to accept the honour, she said, “Good evening, everyone. This is my second Filmfare and I’m really really happy that I got it for Raja Rani. Thank you Filmfare for honouring me with this award.”
