Tiger Woods’ newest mugshot has already made its way onto t-shirts.
Some fans were spotted during the third round of the PGA Tour’s Houston Open on Saturday wearing white shirts featuring the mugshot from Woods’ Friday DUI arrest with the hashtag “FreeTiger” underneath.
The fans, at least two of whom had beers in hand, appeared to pose for a photo taken by Getty Images.
The show of support for Woods came a day after he was arrested on a DUI charge near his home in Jupiter Island, Fla. The 50-year-old rolled his Land Rover over after clipping a truck Friday around 2 p.m. and was able to crawl out unscathed.
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said Friday Woods was traveling at “high speeds” and was allegedly under the influence of “some type of medication or drug,” ruling out alcohol after he “blew triple zeros” on a breathalyzer test. Woods refused a urine test, however, so authorities haven’t been able to determine what Woods may have taken.
Woods was released on bail Friday night after spending at least eight hours in jail, as required by Florida law in intoxication cases. He was spotted being driven away in a black SUV.
Friday’s arrest was nearly nine years after Woods’ first DUI arrest in Florida, after which he said he took a mix of painkillers.
It also came five years after his horrifying crash in California, which shattered his right leg. Woods has also had more than a handful of back surgeries during his career, most recently a disc replacement in September while recovering from a torn Achilles.
Woods, a 15-time major champion whose 82 PGA Tour wins are tied for the most all-time, has not played tournament golf since the 2024 British Open. While he did play Tuesday in his TGL indoor league — three days before the crash — and he had left the door open to playing in next month’s Masters, he was unlikely to tee off at Augusta and is ostensibly less likely to now.
