Someone had to pay the price for the Titans bringing in ex-Giants and Jets players.

As new head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll fill their roster with players from failed tenures with the Jets and Giants, respectively, a cornerback had to be let go.

L’Jarius Sneed was released by the Titans on Friday, according to multiple reports, in a move that freed up $11.4 million in salary cap space.

Sneed, 29, had a terrible season in 2025, ranking as the 105th-best cornerback out of 114 qualified players at the position according to Pro Football Focus.

He was drafted by the Chiefs in 2020 and won two Super Bowls with the team during his four-year rookie contract.

He was then franchise-tagged in 2024 and traded to the Titans for a third-round pick, where he agreed to a four-year, $76.4 million contract, and he played just two seasons for the team.

The Titans appear to have chosen to go in a different direction at cornerback, as Tennessee just signed former Giants starter Cor’Dale Flott to a three-year $45 million contract with $32 million in guaranteed money.

Flott was rated No. 70 among cornerbacks by PFF.

Tennessee also signed Alontae Taylor to its secondary as the Titans look to reshape the roster.

The Titans had $70 million in cap space before they released Sneed, the most in the NFL, so they could be looking to make more splashes around their roster.

As for Sneed, the Chiefs are an obvious candidate for a reunion, as Kansas City just traded All-Pro Trent McDuffie to the Rams, who will be joined by fellow ex-Chief Jaylen Watson, who signed in free agency.
