Tottenham v Copenhagen preview
A return to Champions League action could be a relief for Tottenham, whose 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday meant that their two home wins since August 16 have come in cup competitions.
Spurs are the only team unbeaten away in this season’s Premier League but have the fourth-worst home record, leading to discontent from fans who have not seen their side lose on their own turf in Europe since 2020.
“We can change things quickly,” said goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who has two clean sheets in Tottenham’s three European games this season but one in their last six league matches.
“Our record in European competition playing at home is a big one. We have a big opportunity to turn this track in another way. [Against Copenhagen] is the best chance to try to do it.”

Copenhagen’s form could help, with manager Jacob Neestrup saying his team’s performance “wasn’t good enough” in a 3-2 home win over second-bottom Fredericia on Saturday.
“We’re still in a difficult place and things don’t come easy for us,” rued Neestrup. “That’s how it is at the moment and it will probably be like that for the rest of the year, where it’s just about winning our games.
The reigning champions are five points off the pace in the Superliga and took one point from their first five games in all competitions in October, including Champions League defeats at Qarabag and at home to Dortmund.
Tottenham v Copenhagen team news
Ben Davies (thigh), Archie Gray (calf), Dominic Solanke (foot) and Lucas Bergvall (head) are out for Tottenham.
“Big praise to the medical team,” Frank said of Bergvall’s substitution against Chelsea with concussion, which will also rule the midfielder out for the visit of Manchester United on Saturday.
“It’s a tricky situation to be in when it’s two minutes into a game and everything is on it. So well done to them, because the player’s health is the most important.”

Defender Djed Spence and winger Mohammed Kudus have knocks but Frank expects the pair to be available.
The Dane managed Copenhagen’s city rivals, Brondby, between 2013 and 2016 and expects the visiting section to be “not the biggest fans of me”.
“That’s fair,” Frank added. “That’s part of it. It’s Brondby who have my support. In some ways, it’s a little bit special against a Danish team.
“I know quite a few who work in the backroom staff and in the club. I know some of the Danish players from different [situations], whether it’s the national team or [however] I came across them.”
Left-back Birger Meling, wideman Rodrigo Huescas and midfielders Oliver Hojer, Magnus Mattsson and Thomas Delaney are missing for Copenhagen.
“We don’t have the flow in our game that we had at the end of spring and the beginning of the season,” said Neestrup.
“In my opinion, this is mainly due to the fact that we have been missing five or six of our key players for a period of several weeks.
“It may sound like a bad excuse but, when something like this happens, it can hit any team. Having said that, there are also other things we should have done better.”
New forward Youssoufa Moukoko has four goals in his last two games, scoring a penalty against Fredericia and a hat-trick away to second-tier Hobro in the Danish Cup three days earlier.
