Former TOWIE star Chloe Lewis has shared an update on her son Beau after his finger was sliced off in an ice skating accident on New Year’s Eve, confirming he may need a second operation
TOWIE star Chloe Lewis has shared a heartbreaking update regarding her son’s finger following a horrific accident that saw it severed. The reality television personality disclosed last week that her six year old was taken to A&E after his finger was sliced off in a terrifying ice skating incident.
Taking to Instagram to inform followers, Chloe sadly revealed that her son, Beau, may require a second operation. She captioned the video clip “All went well, MRI booked as they need to check some things. He might need another operation.”
Yet, sporting a grey tracksuit, black jacket and blue woolly hat, Beau seemed cheerful and unbothered as he strolled alongside his mum. In a subsequent photograph, he smiled sweetly for the camera as Chloe added: “We need a holiday.”

Last Thursday, the TV star – who featured on TOWIE between 2015 and 2019 – posted alongside footage of her son Beau in hospital: “I didn’t know whether to share this with the world or not, as he’s my baby & as a parent you’re always protective over your child. I’m sharing to help others and raise awareness. After receiving the dreaded phone call NYE 2pm that no parent ever wants to receive, I was told Beau had been in a terrible accident.”
“He fell over ice skating & someone ran over his finger with their bladed skates, which took his finger off. I’m not even sure how I got into the car and drove the 45 minutes to him, if I’m honest – it was all a complete blur. When I arrived, he was wrapped up in a silver medical blanket. His little face melted my heart, and I did my best to hold back the tears so I didn’t upset him.”
He kept telling me, “It’s fine mum, you don’t need to cry, I’m OK. My finger’s going to be OK. We were blue-lighted to The Royal London, where they checked him over and did X-rays. He finally went down for surgery at around 8pm.”
“Watching your child be put to sleep is probably the worst thing I’ve ever experienced – it’s incredibly distressing, and I honestly wouldn’t wish it on anyone.” She went on to say: “After 3.5 hours in surgery, I was called down so I could be there when he woke up.
“The plastic surgeon told me everything went well. We then went back up to the ward, where I watched him sleep.”
This video was taken from the window on New Year’s Eve. It’s made me reflect on how precious life is, and how everything can change in a matter of seconds.”
Chloe revealed the harrowing incident had spurred her into action, vowing to push for a change in legislation to prevent similar accidents from befalling other youngsters. She said: “As I’ll never be able to bring his finger back, I’d love all your support in helping me change the Law to stop this happening to other children.”
“I’ve started a Petition with the government ‘to make it compulsory for children to wear protective gloves whilst ice skating’. With 100,000 signatures this petition will be considered for a debate in parliament. I’d be grateful for all your help. I hope one day I can tell Beau I changed the law because of him.”
Chloe welcomed Beau with ex-partner Danny Flasher, though the pair unfortunately parted ways in November 2023.
