Jordan Brook has issued a health update after 10 days in hospital with swelling on the brain. The Only Way Is Essex star – who is set to welcome a baby with Sophie Kasaei in the coming months – has admitted he is facing the “hardest battle”.

Jordan, who has been dating Sophie for three years, was rushed to hospital with “swelling on the brain”. Since then, he has been undergoing multiple tests and procedures to try and find out the root cause. Taking to social media, he wrote: “Day 10 in hospital. Hardest battle I’ve ever fought. Family is everything. Praying and hoping. Meds up. Brain is showing continued issues, swelling and pain.”

His pregnant girlfriend, Sophie, is unable to be by his bedside as its too dangerous. She had explained: “It’s been a tough two weeks for our family. Seeing Jordan so poorly has been hard but he is getting there and will get better. It’s going to take time but he is so strong and he’s getting through knowing he’s going to be an amazing dad and that moment is coming.

“Me and bump are just praying and staying strong for dadda and we can’t wait for him to be home soon. Few more days and we will have answers. We live in a scary world. Thank you for all your messages, means a lot. We are all staying positive and every day is a day closer to being back as a family.”

Sophie explained how they were still waiting for answers amid his health battle. She said people needn’t worry if they couldn’t get through to him on his phone as he was just sleeping a lot.

“Jordan is still in the hospital and we are still waiting for answers whilst he is getting treatment and medication. If people are trying to contact him he’s unable to use his phone at the moment as he’s in pain and is mostly sleeping,” she said.

“His family are there with him doing a great job as it’s too risky for me and baby. He will be there for the next few days and hopefully be on the mend and back home to me and bump very soon. Lots of love.”

Jordan underwent a procedure and had been waiting for the results, admitting it was a “really scary” time. He explained: “I’m awaiting results from a procedure once we get them more will be cleared up – what we do know is I have confirmed inflammation and swelling of the brain. A really scary time that reassures you we are all human. Hoping to rest up and be fighting fit and back home with my girl and bump, soon but at the minute seems a long way off. Thank you for everyone’s continued messages of love and support.”
