Former Migos rapper Offset has been shot outside a casino in Florida. It comes just three years after bandmate Takeoff, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, was tragically killed at the age of 28.
Takeoff was gunned down at a bowling alley in Houston, Texas in 2023. His manager blamed a “stray bullet” and “senseless violence” for the rapper’s death at the time. The incident happened around 2.30am after an argument broke out over a dice game allegedly. A shooter opened fire, killing Takeoff and injuring two others who were taken to hospital. Law enforcement rushed to the scene, where Takeoff was pronounced dead. His real-life uncle and other bandmate Quavo was with him when he died.
Takeoff’s memorial service took place in November 2022 in his home city of Atlanta, Georgia, at the 21,000-seater State Farm Arena – with Drake giving a eulogy and Cardi B and Justin Bieber performing in honour of the late rapper.

The band Migos was made up of rapper Quavo, his nephew Takeoff, and their friend Offset. The band was labeled one of the most ‘influential groups of their generation’, and achieved international fame with their 2016 hit single Bad and Boujee, which managed to reach number one in America and reached the top 30 in the UK.
The band then later appeared on Calvin Harris’ 2017 song Slide, which also featured Frank Ocean and reached the UK top 10 that year. Migos got a total of four top 10 hits in the United States between 2016 and 2018, and they had been working on solo projects since 2017.
Quavo paid an emotional tribute to his nephew Takeoff after his death and wrote online: “Dear Take, It’s so hard to tell you Ima miss you because you always with me and we did everything together.
“Since we were kids you been by my side lookin up at me, them eyes waiting on me to make the next move.. then you followed up right behind me. You always made sure I did it first so you can do it right with me. You never competed with me, we were always on the same team.”
The lengthy post also saw Quavo cite his nephew’s ability to be the “quietest in the room” as he praised his laid-back but perceptive personality.
Now, Offset has been rushed to hospital and is being ‘closely monitored’ after he was shot outside a casino earlier this week. A spokesperson confirmed that the popular musician was shot on Monday, April 6.
Offset is father to three children he shared with his ex wife Cardi B.
A rep for Offset said: “We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored.”
