Travis Kelce kept his fans confused for a long time. For the unversed, since the past few months, there were speculations that the star player is retiring from the NFL and he was allegedly also planning his life after retirement. However, a while ago, Travis Kelce shut down all the rumours in style, when he confirmed that he has officially signed a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs and he is all set to return in a few months.

Travis Kelce signs million dollar deal with the Kansas City Chiefs

A few hours ago, the NFL team, Kansas City Chiefs took to their official Instagram handle to share a joint post with Travis Kelce. The post featured some snaps of Travis Kelce signing a deal with the team, officially confirming his return for his 14th year. If reports are to be believed, Travis signed a one-year, USD 12 million deal with the team. The caption of the post was:

“Officially official @killatrav is back for his 14th year!”

Moments after the post went viral, fans flooded the comment section with their excitement. One user commented, “He’s back baby.” Another user penned, “Welcome back Travis.” A third user wrote, “Soooo happy! Travis Kelce shares first statement after signing the deal

Minutes after Travis Kelce signed the deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, he shared his first statement on the same. The video clip was shared on the Instagram handle of the NFL team, Kansas City Chiefs. In the same, the ace player was seen in a red jersey top and a black hat with his team’s name printed on the front. Confirming his return, Travis Kelce shared:

“Chiefs Kingdom, let’s go baby, it’s official! Excited for 2026 and just excited to put on a Chiefs uniform in front of you guys again. Let’s get Arrowhead rocking baby. We’ll see you guys in a few months.”

Travis Kelce’s retirement rumours

A few months ago, multiple reports claimed that Travis Kelce was planning to retire from the NFL after the poor performance by the team last year. Despite the initial disappointment, he chose to stay with the team because he is looking forward to playing with the coach, Andy Reid. He had shared, “Man, I’m still in love with this game. I still love going to work, putting on the pads, grinding it out and just playing the game. My best opportunity was playing for the Chiefs yet again and running this thing back with Pat Mahomes and Coach Reid and got my guy Eric Bieniemy back.”

Later, during a conversation on The Pat McAfee Show, Travis Kelce revealed that it was his fiancee, Taylor Swift, who motivated him to continue playing the sport. He had explained that seeing the global singer do what she loves the most, made him realise that he still has the juice to play the game. He was quoted as saying:

“Of course that’s motivating. That’s motivating for anybody to see, let alone my fiancée, knowing that I’m going through something where I’m trying to figure out exactly what the future holds for me. Something like that definitely motivates me to say, ‘You know what, I’m not done, either.’ I’ve still got some ideas in the back of my mind and still got some juice left to play this game.”
