It seems Tiger Woods will not be contending for his sixth green jacket next month.
That’s according to President Donald Trump, who said Thursday during a phone appearance on Fox News’ “The Five” that the 15-time major champion will be at Augusta National for this year’s tournament but will not be participate.
“I love Tiger, but he won’t be there,” Trump said. “He will be there, but he won’t be playing in it.”
Woods, 50, is dating Trump’s former daughter-in-law, Vanessa Trump, who shares five children with her ex-husband, Donald Trump Jr.
They were married from 2005-18.
Woods underwent lumbar disk replacement surgery in October, and also had surgery for a ruptured left Achilles last March.
He made his long-awaited golf return Tuesday in the TGL Finals in Palm Beach, where he told reporters he’s pushing to play in the Masters — but is unsure when he’ll make a decision.
“I’ve been trying. Just this body is – it doesn’t recover like it did when it was 24, 25. It doesn’t mean I’m not trying,” said Woods, a five-time Masters champion. “I’ve been trying for a while. I’ve had a couple bad injuries here over the past years that I’ve had to fight through and it’s taken some time.
“But I keep trying. I want to play. I love the tournament. I’ve loved being there since I was 19 years old. It’s meant a lot to me and my family over the years. I’m going to be there either way with ‘The Loop’ that’s going up there, as well as the Champions Dinner.”
Woods, who has not played in a regular event since the British Open at Royal Troon in 2024, added he’ll be “practicing playing at home this week and keep trying to make progress.”
Woods’ Jupiter Links GC lost to the Los Angeles Golf Club in Tuesday’s TGL Finals.
Vanessa, 48, and daughter Kai — a rising amateur golfer and University of Miami commit — were seen clapping and cheering for Woods while in the stands at SoFi Center.
The couple shared a hug and a kiss on the course.
Woods hard-launched his relationship with Trump in an Instagram post last March.
