David Dhawan’s much anticipated romantic comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has postponed its release date amid the ongoing war situation. The film, starring Varun Dhawan alongside Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde, was earlier scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 5th June, but the makers have now decided to push the release by a week.
The team shared an official statement announcing the change and said, “We would like to clarify that our film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai was originally scheduled for release on 5th June, a date we had announced several months ago. However, after recent developments and considering the prevailing situation, we felt it would be more appropriate to shift our release.”
They further added, “We strongly believe that it is always healthier for the industry when filmmakers support one another rather than compete unnecessarily on the same date. In that spirit of solidarity, we have decided to move the release of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai to 12th June and bring our film to the audiences a week later.”

The film had announced its early June release a few months ago. Interestingly, Yash’s Toxic was also recently pushed from March 19 to June 4 due to the same war situation, bringing both films close to the same release window. Now, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai will arrive in cinemas on June 12 2026.
