Venezuela condemned the US and Israeli strikes on Iran — while also criticizing Tehran’s “undue” retaliatory attacks on US military bases across the Gulf region.
“Venezuela condemns and regrets deeply that, in a context in which diplomatic efforts and ongoing negotiations are being developed, the military route was opted for, through attacks against Iran,” the Venezuelan government said in a statement Saturday.

The strikes caused “undue and condemnable military reprisals against targets located in different countries of the region by Iran,” it added.
Venezuela has been an ally of Iran, but the interim government in place since US forces captured dictator Nicolas Maduro last month has been walking a tight rope in diplomatic relations with the Trump administration.
