Victoria Beckham has launched a brand new purple-toned colourway of her Eye Wardrobe palette, and she showed fans just how easy it is to create a lifted smokey eye with it

Fans of Victoria Beckham’s beauty line will no doubt be familiar with her Eye Wardrobe palette, which contains four different shades designed to create multiple eye looks using just one product. The latest addition to the line up is the brand new Orchid colourway, which contains four purple-toned shades in the same buttery, easy-to-blend powder formula.

Speaking of the new colour combination, Victoria said: “I find they’re really really flattering, work on all eye colours, and I’m ready to update my smoky eye and give it a fresh look for 2026.” There are two matte shades and two with a pearl finish, and they can be used together, individually, or mixed and matched with other coloured eyeshadows to create multiple eye looks.

Victoria took to Instagram for the launch of the new Eye Wardrobe (£72) to share how she uses all four shades to create the perfect lifted smokey eye, saying: “This product is not going to let you down, it’s going to stay with you all day.” She also uses her best-selling Satin Kajal Eyeliner (£33) to finish off the look, showing how easy it is to create her go-to eye makeup using just two products.

The purple tones of the new Orchid Eye Wardrobe have great range, but we also spotted some similar palettes if you want a broader range of colour options. At Ilia, the Necessary Eyeshadow Palette (£40) contains six shades in a similar colour family as Victoria’s Orchid palette.

Meanwhile the Kay Beauty EyeKanvas Eyeshadow Palette is just £15 with a range of berry and purple tones, although there aren’t any light neutrals to blend with. Meanwhile the Bareminerals Mineralist Eyeshadow Palette is £21 down from £30, and has cooler undertones if those are better suited to your skin tone.

How to copy Victoria’s smokey eye

She starts by taking the light neutral colour in the largest pan and dusting across her entire eye lid using a soft fluffy brush, going all the way between her lashline and her eyebrow. Next she takes the darker purple shade and, using the same fluffy brush, applies it into her eyelid crease, blending it out from the middle of her lid towards the end of her brow.

According to Victoria, focussing on the middle of the lid outwards helps “give the illusion of a lifted eye”, and she alternates between blending with the brush and using her fingers to pat the colour in the outer corner to continue that lifted look. Next up, using a smaller more tapered brush, she applies the same dark purple shade to her lower lids, keeping it tight to her lashes. She then buffs the same shade along her top lashline using the same small compact brush to help create a more defined shape.

Taking the lilac shade next, she pats it into the middle of her eyelid, adding: “What this does is it really opens up the eye. I’ve used the contour here, with the darker shade, to lift up my eye, and now I’m going to use this lighter colour just in the centre here to really open it up.”

Victoria then applies the same lilac colour beneath her eye, blending it into the darker section she’s already done and bringing it towards the inner corners of her eye. To complete the look, she takes a slanted definition brush and taps it into the fawn brown shade and tightly lines along her eyelashes on both her upper and lower lids.

The pearl finish of the brown helps catch the light, creating a more open, lifted look, even when layered on top of darker tones. The first neutral shade Victoria used also has the same pearlescent finish, helping bounce light off her upper lids and brow bone which gives it that open eyed, lifted brow effect.

Although you could leave it there for a softer, more daytime-friendly look, Victoria amps it up into something a little more sultry and defined by lining her waterline with her best-selling Satin Kajal Eyeliner in the shade Fig. Once done, she shows the contrast between her finished smokey look and her un-made-up eye, and it’s clear to fans how much more lifted and defined her completed eye looks.
