Siddhant Chaturvedi recently graced the stage of the popular reality show Indian Idol to promote his upcoming romantic movie, Do Deewane Seher Mein. The film, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and directed by Ravi Udyawar, stars Siddhant alongside co-star Mrunal Thakur. While the visit was intended to spotlight his transition into a romantic lead, the promotions took a nostalgic turn that revisited his character of MC Sher.

During the episode, judge and rapper Badshah fondly recalled Siddhant’s impactful performance in the 2019 film Gully Boy. Highlighting his natural flair for music, Badshah asked if he would be willing to perform a rap. Supported by fellow judge Shreya Ghoshal, Siddhant obliged with an impromptu performance on stage. The spontaneous set included playful lines dedicated to his co-star, Mrunal Thakur mixing romantic lines with the rap.

The performance was thoroughly enjoyed and the clips of the rap began circulating across social media platforms shortly after the episode aired, giving way to many reactions from fans. For many, the moment served as a reminder of  MC Sher from Gully Boy that defined Siddhant’s breakthrough in the film industry.

When Gully Boy released seven years ago, the character of MC Sher became a pop-culture highlight. Siddhant’s performance was praised for its confidence and magnetic screen presence, establishing him as a prominent new voice in Bollywood. At the time, the character’s dialogues and style became widely quoted, marking a turning point in his career.

Now, seven years later, Siddhant finds himself at a professional crossroads. Moving away from the gritty, street-smart persona of his debut, he is now embracing a softer, romantic avatar in Do Deewane Seher Mein. Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the film allows him to explore the lover-boy space, showcasing a different shade of his personality. Do Deewane Seher Mein is set to release in theatres this Friday on February 20.
