‘Who Are These People.. You Call Them Media?’ Jaya Bachchan SLAMS Paparazzi For Passing Remarks

It seems like Jaya Bachchan is truly upset with the ongoing paparazzi culture and the way they are present everywhere with a camera in hand. She also added that people might hate her on social media, but that is their opinion. For the unversed, Jaya Bachchan often received backlash for her attitude and anger issues with paparazzi.

Jaya Bachchan opened up about her relationship with the paparazzi

Recently, Jaya attended an event that was hosted by Barkha Dutt. During the event, Jaya Bachchan accepted that she is the product of the media, but she has zero relationship with the paparazzi. She stated that these people have no training to represent the people of India, yet with phones in their hands, they follow you and pass comments. She pointed at the remarks they made while shooting pictures and videos of a celebrity. She was quoted as saying:

“I am the product of the media, but my relationship with paparazzi is zero. Who are these people? Are they trained to represent the people of this country? You call them media? I come from the media. My father was a journalist. I have tremendous respect for such people.”

Jaya Bachchan further commented on the photographers and stated that these people standing outside with shabby drainpipe-type clothes with mobilein their hands, they think they can record anyone and make comments. She said:

“But ye jo bahar drain-pipe type gande gande pants pehen kar, haath me mobile le ke. They think just because they have a mobile, they think they can take your picture and say what they want and the kind of comments they pass.” 

Jaya Bachchan further questioned the background and education of these people working as photographers, expressing her dislike towards the photographers. Her words clearly stated that it was to justify the previous episode where she questioned the conduct of paprazzi, and directly asked them to take picture and don’t pass remarks. During an events, she had told the photographers stationed outside:

“Aap log photo lo, badtameezi mat karo. Chup raho munh band rakho photo lo khatam. Upar se comments karte rahte ho.”

When Jaya Bachchan’s encountered a fan named ‘Aishwarya’

A while ago, we stumbled upon a video of a woman, who revealed that she met Jaya Bachchan at their club in Mumbai, along with her mahila sansad. She was the guest of honour, and the woman in the welcome committee introduced herself as Aishwarya. To which, Jaya Bachchan said, “Aishwarya, hmmm.” 

The lady further revealed that during the event, they sat together and were having lunch, when Jaya Bachchan noticed that she wasn’t eating and she asked her why she wasn’t eating anything. Within seconds, a photographer started clicking her picture, and she lashed out at him. The lady in the interview further revealed how Jaya Bachchan got agitated from a person sitting next to her, and she got out of her seat and left the room. The volunteer ran after her and Jaya Bachchan lashed out at her thinking that she would hold her hand.
