John’s daughter, Teddi Mellencamp, who was also a star in the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ has been battling cancer for a significant period of time now. John opened up about her struggles on an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience and said that his daughter Teddi is “really sick”. During an episode on February 4, 2026, Joh spoke extensively about his daughter’s condition and sufferings due to cancer. He told:

 “It’s not f—ing fun, She’s got cancer in the brain, and she’s suffering right now.”

Teddi Mellencamp is a former reality TV star who announced in 2025 that she had reached stage 4 of her skin cancer and found tumours on her lung and brain. Teddi received immediate brain surgery as well as radiation and immunotherapy after the tumours were discovered. Reacting to this, John told the TODAY show that he wants his daughter to move back to Indiana as she undergoes treatment. John claimed that Teddi has good and bad days as she continues her journey, but some days she just feels like hell after undergoing immunotherapy treatment. He said: 

“I’m trying to talk her into moving back home,”

In an episode of her podcast, “Two Ts in a pot”, co-hosted with Tamra Judge of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Teddi Mellencamp shared that her father had been calling her often and discussing her burial preparations. She said:

“Yesterday, my dad called 11 times in a row … he goes, ‘I just want to make sure that you’re going to be in our group family mausoleum,’”
