The death of a woman whose body was found in an Ipswich home this month was a homicide, police allege.
Police discovered the body of the Springfield 42-year-old in the house on Beryl Court in Bellbird Park before noon on February 19, after being called about a man causing a disturbance on the street.
A police spokesperson said the body “may have been inside the house for some time”.
Neighbours said a man had been seen pacing on the street for days, always wearing the same clothes.
Officers took a 34-year-old man into custody, and he was taken to a hospital.
He was yet to have a medical assessment and had not been interviewed by detectives.
Following a postmortem exam, a homicide investigation was under way.
Anyone with relevant information about the incident was urged to contact police.
Police are expected to address the media about the incident later on Tuesday.
