A woman paid a visit to her local charity shop and spotted a pair of black leather ankle boots priced at £13.52, but “could not believe her eyes” when she turned them over and spotted the label

A bargain-hunting shopper “hit the jackpot” after picking up a pair of boots and, when she turned them over to check the price, she spotted a coveted brand imprinted on the underside of them. Charity shops can be a haven for discounted clothing, shoes, books, homeware, accessories and more.

Spotting designer goodies in one of these stores has been likened to finding “the holy grail”, but one woman really lucked out when she was drawn to a pair of black leather combat boots priced at $17.99 (£13.52) in her local store. When she turned them over, she spotted a distinctive red sole – an instantly recognisable feature of designer Christian Louboutin shoes – as well as its famous logo confirming the brand.

Christian Louboutin is famed for reigniting a love of stilettos in the 1990s, as well as its enduring approach to on-trend styles that are glamorous and flirtatious. The brand doesn’t just do its famous high heels, it also stocks a variety of shoes and boots in varying designs.

The woman shared her joy after snapping up the designer ankle boots on Reddit. Alongside a carousel of images showcasing the shoes – and the low price tag of $17.99 (£13.52) – in all their glory, she penned: “Didn’t think I would ever score big enough to post here but I hit the jackpot with these!

“Pick these up because I thought they were cute, realised that the leather felt really nice. Decided to look at the brand and could not believe my eyes.”

A similar pair of Christian Louboutin ankle boots – the brand’s En Hiver Lug Low boots – are currently priced at £1,260.

On the Louboutin website, it states: “Christian Louboutin’s women’s ankle boots embody a fusion of sophistication and boldness, offering a spectrum of styles from elegant flats to daring platforms, sleek stilettos, and edgy biker boots.

“Each pair is meticulously crafted from the finest leathers, reflecting the Maison’s unique vision and featuring the iconic red sole.”

In the comments section, fellow Reddit users were keen to share their thoughts. One person shared a mock internal monologue: “Those are some nice boots. Good stitching. Why are the soles red? Wait… That’s some weird cursive… Lou… WELL DAMN.”

Another said: “I don’t know you but I’m so happy for you, friend.” A third commented: “That is a FIND. Do they fit well? They look super cool.”

The original poster confirmed they “fit perfectly” and shared she “ran” to the till to make the purchase. One Reddit user shared: “This is the type of find I’d check out and go home. I wouldn’t even need to keep thrifting anymore I’d be so satisfied.”
