A woman’s body has been discovered by police at a house in Melbourne’s outer east, sparking the quick arrest of a man nearby.
Police were called to the Mountain Highway property, near the intersection with Dorset Road, in Bayswater around 11am and found the woman dead.
About 40 minutes later they arrested a 39-year-old man nearby and plan to interview him on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said in a statement that they believe the pair knew each other.
