Tirupati:The 19th victim of the Kurnool bus accident has been identified as Trimurthi (58), a resident of Yamagaanipalle in Gudupalle mandal, Kuppam constituency. The confirmation, which came late on Sunday, plunged his family into deep grief.

Trimurthi, who was engaged in the quarry business, had travelled to Hyderabad on October 22 to attend a relative’s wedding. He left Kuppam by train and later boarded a private travels bus from Bengaluru to Hyderabad. After the wedding on the 23rd, he boarded the same bus service for his return journey.

Before leaving Hyderabad, he made a WhatsApp call to his daughter Chaitanya in Chennai, informing her he was heading home. He also called a taxi driver, Nagaraju, from Kuppam, asking him to reach Bangarupet by 7.30 a.m. on Friday to pick him up. However, when Nagaraju arrived, Trimurthi never showed up, and his phone was switched off.

The family later learnt about the bus fire accident near Kurnool, involving a private travels bus from Hyderabad to Bengaluru. After two days of anxious waiting, police informed them that one of the unidentified bodies could be Trimurthi’s.

Following CCTV verification and DNA testing, Kurnool police confirmed his identity. His son, Kalyan Bharat, working in Hyderabad, provided DNA samples that matched the victim.

Trimurthi is survived by his wife Vasanthamma, son Kalyan Bharat, and daughter Chaitanya. The family is mourning his tragic death.
