You won’t believe why these 6 countries banned Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, called the film ‘Anti…’

Ranveer Singh’s new spy-thriller Dhurandhar is making all the headlines inside and outside India. While the movie has left no stones unturned in drawing audiences to the big screens in the nation, it seems that Aditya Dhar’s crime flick has hit a roadblock, especially in the Middle East. Dhurandhar has so far earned over Rs 300 crore worldwide, but Gulf nations have not contributed to the collection. You will be surprised to know that the film, which is getting so much love in India, has been banned in six Gulf countries.

Which Gulf Countries Banned Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar

Gulf countries including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE have banned the film from showing on big screens.

The sweeping ban has reignited the long-running debate over the increased scrutiny Indian films with cross-border themes often face in the Middle East.

Reports suggest that the makers tried to secure a theatrical release across the Gulf—a key market for Bollywood—but were denied clearance in every country.

Why is Dhurandhar Banned in Gulf Countries?

“There were apprehensions that this would happen as the film is perceived as an ‘anti-Pakistan film’. The team still made an attempt, but none of the countries approved the film’s theme. That’s why Dhurandhar hasn’t been released in any Gulf territory,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

This is not the first time Gulf countries have banned Indian movies. Earlier, movies like Fighter, Sky Force, The Diplomat, Article 370, Tiger 3, and The Kashmir Files have faced similar bans across parts of the Middle East.
